An office reminder…
Just a reminder to all parents and students that this Wednesday is the annual Dance A Thon & Halloween Parade.
This year, the Leadership Council has decided to raise money for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. They hope to raise $1000.00 through collected donations and sales of drinks and treats at the dance. The prices for items for sale on Wednesday range from $0.50 to $2.50 and the Leadership Council will have drinks, gum, chips and chocolate treats available. A games room and a reading room are open for students who do not wish to visit the gym for their scheduled 30-60 minute dance.
The Leadership Council is awarding top grades with various prizes to thank them for their generosity. So far the Kindergarten students are in second place and the grade 4 students are in first place. The school has collected $630.00 to date and they will be accepting donations up to Friday, November 2.
Also we’d like to remind all parents and caregivers that students must not bring any plastic or replica weapons (knives, swords, guns, arrows) to school at any time. Further, if a staff member feels that a costume is inappropriate for a school setting, the child can call home and request a change of clothes. Older students can wear their full costume at the dance (grade 5/6s at 11:20 a.m. and grade 7/8s at 1:15 p.m.) since they cannot wear masks during the school day. Younger students will have to arrive at school with their complete costume since the parade will take place in the atrium and main hallways at 8:45 – 9:00 a.m.
